Hi,

1st post in this section.

I have a Sony Didital Tv with built in Freeview ( less than 2 yrs old), I get all the normal free channels. Tested RH last night worked fine with help from our special friend, No problems. Today Checked the Setanta channel just before 11.15 am looked fine then at 11.30 the on screen picture changed. I was expecting the viewer I.D to appear etc ,but instead I got" your digital Tv or set top box is not compatible with this service please go to topuptv. com and see the compatibilty list. I then auto- rescanned the channel line up and Setanta Sports aint there no more. Tried again, still aint there. Stops at a Channel in the low 30's and starts again at a Channel in the low 60's.

Gona try RH tonight which is still there at 98, see if that still works but like I say that has worked fine in the past.Ive never used Setanta before today.

anybody got a solution/ideas
Or am I gona have to buy a standalone set top Box ?(recomend please)

Or as I quite fancy DVD Recorder, what about one with built in Freeview.?

Thanks for your help.

I've had this problem it seems to happen to me when they update the software to my freeview box. for a few days I lose a couple of channels But after a few scans they have came back up.

thats quite a common problem with idtv's channels disappearing. ive never had that problem with my phillips digital box and its over 5 years old.

So If your Freeview Box aint plugged in to the phone socket the updated software comes through the ariel then, Didnt no that. All new to me this lark. Any body else have any ideas

Thanks by the way Pal

yes it does come through the ariel. have you got an internal ariel somewhere then you could plug that in and do a channel search then if Setanta Sports doesnt appear you can re-position the ariel easily and do a re-scan.

It depends if your in a strong signal area a signal booster isnt nessesary if you are. i use a £9.99 internal ariel which is over 5 yrs old and i recieve all the channels no problem.
