Hi All.

I'm wondering if I can pick your brains. I took back my Fusion Freeview box with 30 second rewind cos simply put it was crap.

So my Question is. Which Freeview box should I buy??

Good advice if you don't mind slow channel changing. I'm quite happy with my Thompson TUTV box.

Talking about good boxes, are there any other boxes like the Nokia 221t and the 121t that allow for manual pid entry, etc?

I have the 221t Nokia.. good box.. not slow either.. you can pick these up from fleabay and likes..

the iplayer+ is a good box i reckon

nothing wrong with my old pace pace ondigi box that i got from the booty for £2.50, and its not that slow, but i only have now and next EPG and no txt but apart from that its Ok, and nice and cheep, regards.

you can improve the speed of the box by havuin ariel lined up with a meter... theres nout wrong with ondig boxes :)

cable pace boxes from the ondig age are shyte.. pace 1000 says it all.

Hello all

Goodmans GDB3, seems best one to me

Very quick, lots of features and only £40!

Played with lots of other boxes and this one seems best to me.

Thanks guys for the advice on what Freeview box to get

I've checked out a few websites and I think I'm going to get the Goodmans GDB3.

Cheers

New freeview boxes are faster than old ITVdigital and most are the same.

Features to consider:
scart sockets - most have one, but some have two allowing you to put in the viewing chain.
modulator - few boxes have these but useful if you are watchiong on an old tv set without scart
combined device - you can now get VCR's, HDD recorders, DVDrecorders with inbuilt DTT tuner
two tuners - if gettig a box that can record then those with two tuners will allow to record one channel whilst watching another

a lot of freeview boxes don't come with a scart lead, so i recommend u get 1 with a scart lead.

One to avoid...

I have a Philips DTR 3200... I *wouldnt* reccomend it!

Constantly crashes / hangs, complete BOS...
