Good Evening all.

I recently got this tv : SAMSUNG UE46F6100 - 46" 6 Series 3D LED-backlit LCD TV | Pixmania

Pixmania dispatched it from France, not sure if this is relevant but anyway.

I went out and got an aerial for it today, to watch freeview etc. I got this aerial from Wilko:

Maxview Indoor TV Aerial Amplified Loop at wilko.com

For about the £13 mark. When i got it home, i tried to auto and manual tune, but the damn thing could not find a single channel.

So i went out again about bought another aerial from TESCO:

Buy One For All SV 9021 Value Line Indoor Aerial from our Aerials range - Tesco.com

Same result. Could not find a single channel, i have changed the channel region of the TV but nothing seems to work. Thanks in advance.

sounds like you need to hook it up to a proper ariel.take it round a friends house or someone who has a big one on the roof get it tuned in then try little Ariel and failing that i dont know..is it able to set up to uk freeveiw as some tv are region locked.?

you can use loft aerial will work just the same as one on the roof

I live in a huge student house with 9 other people - not even sure if there is another tv aerial. I do have a white box in my room with telewest on it, but i think that was an old broadband company?. I presume just trying to hook it up to that won't work.

The indoor amplifiers are generally only good if you live 10 mile or less to the closest transmitter. So as Bobby123 said above, bang one in the roof loft, and with it being student accomm:drink:, get the drill out and trace a line outside back to your room and you will be sorted
