I have a LG TV model No.19LS4D-ZD with built in freeview my wife was changing channels when it stuck on Film4+1 now the only thing that can be done is using the remote is the power button to put it in standby nothing else will change even using the buttons on the TV, is there any way to get the freeview working again or is it knackered.

Any suggestions gratefully received

Have you tried pulling the mains plug for 20 sec or so and then plugging it back in?

Sounds daft but can be effective

have you tried unpluggin the tv from the power socket for a few mins then plug it in

edit im too slow

Yes it was switched off for 10 minutes but still same problem

Are you on the latest software update?

You don't have any child lock features enabled?

Have you tried to disconnect the aerial.

It was on auto update so I presume it had the latest software. I disconnected it overnight but the only button on the remote that operates is the on / off button I have pressed all the others and nothing happens. I connected my Humax PVR 9300T and the picture is perfect but the only control I have is through the Humax controller.

As I said, have you checked to see if the key lock feature/child lock is enabled.

I don't think so the power switch turns the TV on and off if the batteries were flat it would not work at all

I am not able to check re the child lock as the only button on the remote that works is the power button and none of the buttons on the TV itself work either

get a camara fone switch it to camara mode and look at the led on remote
does the led flicker on the camara

Yes the led flickers but the only thing it will do is switch the TV of and on

Have a search on the web there maybe some kind of reset option for the TV, something that's not in the manual like an engineers reset.

I have had a looked on the web and the suggestions need the remote to be operating the TV and my remote will only switch the TV on and off and nothing else. Thanks for all the suggesting but I think I will take it to the tip tomorrow.

Faulty remote perhaps?. Yes it turns it off and on but the remote has many functions. See if you can get a spare Lg remote to try. Or take it to a TV shop to do this test.

if you have a smart phone get the app for it for LG Remote see if that works.

Are there any controls on the TV itself you can try? Most TVs have at least a volume and programme + - buttons somewhere.

I have tried the buttons on the TV itself but they do not work either.

Thanks for all the replies the TV is now at the recycling centre
