Free xbox one controller

Dont know if this will be any use to anyone but i had a friend who recently broke his headset in his xbox one controller and the metal bit was jammed into the controller so he couldn't put another headset into it but after contacting microsoft support through the live chat option they have agreed to send him out a brand new headset, after hearing this me and a few other friends tried this and have had new controllers too so hope it can help others on here if needing another controller. Think you need to have a console registered with them though.

Do you not need to send back the damaged controller? I've just been onto xbox support about my play and charge kit, the battery is knackered after 6 weeks and I have to send my battery and charge lead back then they'll send me another one..

Tryed it yesterday they want me to send the controller back before they send out another, i tryed the i dont have any way of sending it back or printing labels but no joy, when my headset broke they just sent a new one out
