I just bought one to start a marine reef tank project I have been interested in for some time now!

These are really cool devices and so affordable, why are we not discussing them lol...

I've got two Pi Zeros waiting to be fiddled with for audio projects when I can get around to it. There's a wealth of info out there on Google and YouTube.

It would be interesting to hear what people have been doing with them.

For me it will be to monitor my fish tank, Temp, Flow, PH, ORP, possibly even top up.

I already have an expensive controller, but to be honest its not very flexible... I like the idea of getting it up and running and then developing the it myself to suit my needs... IE email me when there is an issue (with detailed logs), VPN access to it etc...

We should consider a simple Raspberry PI forum in the smart home section possibly???

Most people just think of them as being a cheap Kodi box (which they do very well).

I have a few and did a few projects but nothing that I could use daily. Now they just all gathering dust.

One project I'm considering is using pi as PBX don't need a PBX but it's worth trying.

Can use it as VPN server or even print server.

Loads of projects available just depends on what you want to do.

I'd be interested too. My boy got 1 free last year at a University open day & he's done bugger all with it. Pretty sure I could think of a few projects to utilise it then do bugger all with it myself :proud:
HH.

You could also add the Camera module and then you can view the tank remotely.

How about a transcoding server for enigma2 so you could view streams from over the net?

One in the office pulls data from the remote-monitoring system and displays status data for inbound fault tickets.

A couple of others are used as NAS frontends for streaming audio and video.

Tidy installations as they are easily fastened to back of the monitor/TV, HDMI and Ethernet connections are all that are required.

Could use an I2C ADC to measure temperature. Doesn't look at first glance like the RaspberryPi has a hardware SPI module, at least not to the pins.

Just updated my original pi to librelec and it runs kodi ok. Wireless keyboad works well but the wifi dongle I have for it is hard to get to work.

I currently run a quad boot on my pi2 32 gig sd card with kodi 17[OSMC} Rasbplex , Raspian, and retro pi - emulation game station runnig sweet as a nut.
Image Here and how too

Just bought one so I can run Retro-Pi as I have around 2tb of roms for various emulators and wanted an easy way to get them on the TV. I use it with a wireless Xbox 360 controller. runs very good.
