Anyone know where I can get a cheap clay oven

Dont want a gas one or one of those 400 pound ones that's encased in a metal box

Dont do that, say more..go on do it, do it...do it I say..fine dont say anything

Ahh okay, just assumed with saying tandoor it was enough, however, I guess you're right and not everyone will know what one is.

Basically I want for it to have vents at the bottom for air flow, enough space for me to add coal and then long enough for me to drop in large skewers of meat... Google tandoor cooking for more info if it helps

Even if anyone knows of a place that makes clay "stuff" near Mile End area then that's good enough for me

you could always make your own, there are plenty of blogs that have instructions.

I should warn you they take to while to heat up (over an hour) so you will probably not be using them for a quick meal.

Do you have one?

With regards to making my own - Have you ever seen the picture of Homer burning the bowl of cereal...

don't have one as I don't have the space but I worked in curry place and cooked with one. Also my family used to hand make them back in the day, these days its factory made.

Just glancing through youtube and this looks interesting. Probably put it together for less then 20 quid and OK for a couple of people.

Seen that video already - ApparentLY the way she did it is very dangerous due to the type of oil and metal she used (something like that)

Totally agree With Rat. Its just blatant post clocking in my view. We delete newbie posts for less :( so its now time to start deleting some of H&H's useless posts ;)

Sorry had to read your post again Ian, I thought you said post cocking ;)

I dont mean to start a war here, my main concern is for the forum and its members
speaking to a new member in this way could put them off posting or visiting in my view

HimHer seems a clever fella and Ive seen him help a few members :) but then you get the odd posts like I quoted above, that to me seem pointless, some Id go as far to say as belittling :(

Im not out for a argument with anyone just saying how I (some) feel

Okay, first post was a mistake. I thought the winky smilie meant humour? My humour is a bit (lot?) off the wall. When I got back to the thread and reviewed it I couldn't edit or delete it - I tried to rescue that by asking a serious question.

I've never posted intending to belittle, post-clock or anything negative.

If in future you want a post removing or editing and you have missed the time slot then use the report post icon and we will sort it out for you.

read the instructions, it says not to use zinc galvanized bucket which they later realised.
