Wow really going to town there lads )

I normally buy that makeway curry powder the fairly hot one is just nice and tastes like my local takeway I dont really like tomato currys.

Anyway I normally just fry some onions of with a 2 heaped tea spoons of makeway curry powder in a pan for a two minutes then slowly add water to make my sauce as thick as you preffer.

Then you can just use the frying pan to fry of your chicken mushrooms peppers and other ingredients and add them to the paste you made.

I SWEAR MAKEWAY CURRY POWDER IS DEFFO THE CLOSEST THING YOU WILL FIND TO GET A CURRY LIKE YOUR LOCAL CHINESE

To be honest by the ingredients you have got I would swear your making a Indian meal :Fish:

Is that that Chinese curry powder, full of msg ?

Don't like it at all, turns like jelly when cold..

makeway doesnt go like jelly m8 the sell it in asda give it try one day great for a quick curry.

I cant knock you for doing it from scratch yourself though mate its always going to taste more fresh doing it from scratch with yogut and tomatoes ive tried that before but can never seem to get the balance right.

:proud:

Most curry's are low fat. The stuff in takeaways is nothing to do with most indian cooking. What is fattening is the crap you have with it. Leave out the papadoms, nan bread and sweet chutneys. Stick to wild rice or wholemeal chappatties (no ghee).

I batch make the following sauce and freeze in portions. you can use olive oil instead of sunflower but there is not much difference fat wise and you do not use much of it anyway.

I imagine all the large supermarkets do if they have an electric department. Tesco and sainsbury definately do.

I tell you what guys these recipes sound fine but they are missing a crucial ingredient lemon zest,
Here is barons best marinade
chop 4 breast portions each into 3 into a pan with chopped onions, chopped green apple, and a small amount of cooking oil
Add some chopped garlic, ginger, throw in a few cloves then add the zest of a lemon give it a good mix
Leave it in the pan, occasionally turning it for sbout 4 hours to let all the flavours infuse into the chicken
Add all the curry spices and cook.......... Heaven

Basmati rice with cloves, green cardamoms, cinamon wood,
Whole meal chipata........bon apetit
