With the possible/likely changes to UK sat viewing, motorised dishes/multiple LNB set ups are probably going to be "en-vogue" again, so.......
I've had a read of a guide on here, and it is fairly good, but INCORRECT on quite a few things!
I am going to compile a CORRECT guide for you guys on here!

Just a quick question to the mods, where should I post it? in this section, or elsewhere?

This section would be fine mate.

Funny as it happens but i am fitting one this afternoon for a customer,Will be glad to help if require but only get a few hrs free each week

As you have said above mate, motorised dishes installs may become a little more popular in the coming months. Its like the good old days coming back lol

I must say too many 'how to' guides beats too few. I did my first install 2 weeks back with a TM5402 on a 1m motorized dish and would have been clueless without the really helpful sticky guides on here, so huge thanks to them. If a technomuppet like me can do it, they must be good .

What are the imminent changes that will make motorized set ups more popular ?

With the likely closure of the Sky CS platform, people may want alternative viewing opportunities.
IPTV is one way, and using other satellites, is another.
There are quite a few FTA channels available, if you have access to other satellites than 28.2 Astra/Eurobird.
People have been spoilt with their ease of viewing over the last few years; maybe now it is time for the sat scene to be revived?
If you know, you KNOW!

Quick question regarding other satellites on a motorised set up....Are the stations scrambled and will I need a new line supplier?

Not all are scrambled, some require key files and some would need a new line

Having had a look at Digidudes Guide i would love to know what are the so called INCORRECT parts as installation of a motorised dish the basics has never changed

Well for a start, putting "Skew" on an LNB on a motorised setup is a definite error!

No mention of 'Skew' on the LNB on digidudes Guide, Anyhow i will await your guide but if its anything like your Posting time appearance 7 years might be a bit late as IPTV will have well and truly taken over by then

The only thing issue with Digidude's guide is that the pictures got lost during the forums software updates. There used to be pictures of the receiver screens. Maybe if someone still has them, they can be re-added. Fruitball's guide is very good too.

In any case, what makes the forum good is user participation and content contribution. If you feel you guide will help others, just post it. The members here won't go out of the way picking holes in it unless the content is questionable. Walk the walk instead of talking the talk.

I hope you can add something along the lines of transferring a channel list and then selecting channels. Makes it so much easier to select channels instead of scanning.

LOL, point taken.
But skew is mentioned in a guide on here and there are some other errors, and omissions, in all the guides!
Though, if I am going to be taken as a Turnip, then why bother?
I won't take 7 years to compile my guide BTW!

The Guides posted on here will get any Newbie through a Basic Install of a motorised dish in no time if any member gets stuck then they can make a post and i am pretty sure 'Regular' visiting members would gladly help.

I apologise if my original post may have come across a tad harsh but with an opening bold statement to say the Guides have some glaring omissions missing and possibly wrong and then to state you will write another 'Correct' Guide after an absence from the forum of around 7 years then i do think i am entitled to be a little cynical.

Please do prove me wrong and write an excellent Guide its been 10 days now since your original opening thread post, If it does end up taking another 7 years Satellite reception maybe a thing of the past (Only Joking)
