Hi all,

so firstly, I'm pretty much the a complete newbie so some patience may be required. I'm quite technically minded so I'm not a complete face smash into a brick wall though.

I am at present a Sky tv customer with the HD full package using a Sky+HD which I think is a Sky drx890.

what I'm looking for is recommendations from long time forum contributors, I need pointing in the right direction so to speak.

thanks in advance

Hi Lescantle,

thanks for replying.

Where can I go to read up on what to expect, I really don't know what exactly they can do or achieve as every where I have been or looked it doesn't explain in newbie terms.

basically I don't want to be paying Sky loads of money for entertainment every month.

cheers

if you want same function as Sky, as in record one channel watch another or pause live TV then you need to go for a dual tuner box - ZGemma H2S being the cheapest and the Vu range being more expensive.

You can get a ZGemma H2S for 90 pounds and then add cost of an external USB hard drive.

If cost isn't an issue, then look at getting the Vu Solo2 - they retail at over 200 pounds

Technomate TM5402 M3 and Triax 88cm dish and Technomate Disecq motor
i never use Sly TV anymore too much adverts much better quality stuff available on other satellites and for FREE
you would be very surprised .

Thanks for the replies.
lets say I brought a vu solo 2 triax 88 dish and a technomate motor. How do you find signals ?
Do I need cards , signal reader or card readers ?
if there is a website I can read and find all this without bothering you guys with newbie questions please message me it.

You will need a satellite signal finder,A cheap one off the bay will do and only a few quid,Install the dish and run the cables to the box,Setup the box and then you will need a gift/sub to get the premium channels
