Current setup is I installed a clone Solo2 at a mates place for him to use for a while until he wanted to commit to buying a box, all working so finally got him a Unibox ECO as he also had a virgin media cable tv feed, went over this morning to set it all up, box configured and cable side works no problem, get no signal on the satellite side so I am thinking satellite tuner is knackered as it works on the Solo2 - got box home connected it to my satellite and all working so nothing wrong with the box

He has a old satellite dish that only has a single cable coming out, so would this make cause the issue of not getting any signal on the Unibox but working on the Solo2 - is the satellite tuner on the Unibox not as good as the one on the Solo2

any advice

If the dish at your mates is fine on your solo2 then the dish is good. Or have i miss understood ?

Could it be setup parameters for the sat side of the unibox ?

What signal strength was the solo 2 getting on your mates dish ?

on solo2 get a signal nothing on the unibox

plugged unibox into my dish with no changes done to configuration and I get a satellite signal

The LNB could be faulty, perhaps not switching. Did you try several transponders?

check that there is enough of the centre conductor protruding from the F connector

if this is the case, how come I can get a satellite signal on the Solo2 - but nothing on the Unibox

yes confirmed the centre conductor (as in the thin wire) is long enough

I have decided to see if image is an issue, as the Solo2 runs OpenVix so going to flash OpenVix on the Unibox to see if this may fix it.

Say for example that the LNB does not switch from horizontal to vertical, i.e stuck on horizontal. If you test on solo 2 and start off on horizontal, you will get a signal. If you then try to go to vertical, you won't signal.

Some faulty LNBs will switch one direction but not the other way.

IMO issue is faulty LNB or misalignment of dish.

My mates been using the solo 2 for 6 weeks changing to various channels and had no issues at all - including the subscription channels ;)

right I think I have come to a conclusion, issue with lnb - using Satfinder in the openatv image when I select DVB-S2 get no signal but when I select DVB-S get a signal and lock - as the dish/lnb is very old obviously not S2 - confused as to why the Solo2 was getting a signal and lock without any changes, yet the Unibox isnt

I would defo recomend redoing the F connectors out on the dish and might aswell re do the one inside, check for corrosion in the cable ie water ingress, also check for joints along the cable, re do them if there is, LNB and dish are not the problem here

decided to replace whole dish and cable, as its old lnb/dish plus its only a single feed so want dual feed for the zgemma H2S box - this is at a mates and not my place
