So I have a Vu+ Duo2, 80cm dish, 3 LNBs pointing at 13/19/28, all split up by a DiSEqC switch and a shotgun cable down the flat, so one end goes into one tuner, the other end into the next available tuner.

1. How should I configure the tuners? This is what I've used so far and it worked OK, only using one cable, one tuner, as I didn't have a HDD at the time and there was no point trying.

But I got a HDD now so naturally I would like to make the most of this.

2. I am now a bit confused, should I use/configure tuner B or tuner C? As at the back of the box, both tuners have 2 'LNB In', now which one is what?! I've tried configuring tuner B the same as tuner A with both cables at the top input on each tuner but it didn't work.

I did notice though that I could record 4 channels at the same time but all of them being BBC!

4. Lastly, how would I know if I got it right after I configure the tuners, should I check tuner B or C or whatever for signal in Main Menu / Setup / Service searching / Sat finder? Should I set up 13.2 on one tuner and 19.2 and 28.2 on the other one?

I've been searching and still do it, didn't find a guide or anything relevant, I do apologise if there's one around, but couldn't find one.

A photo of your dish/LNB set-up would be helpful. To achieve what (I suspect) you want you will need 3 X twin LNB's and six DiSEqC switches in total. This will allow you to watch any channel on any satellite whilst recording any other another channel.

A 'diagram' of my set-up modified by Abu Baniaz in this post I've initially asked for help.

80cm dish, 3lnbs, 2 diseqc, one box.jpg

I am hoping to be able to record channels (the odd football game or movie if I am not at home) whilst watching another.

I'd like to be able to record at least one, and watch another (like with the Sky box), or ideally more, if possible in my set-up.

What you dont explain is whether you have single or twin LNB's or even Quad LNB's mounted on your dish, as what you actually require to use 2 tuners to fully watch and record is 3 x Twin/Quad LNB's and 2 diseqc switches.

if your only using Single ouput LNB's then your restricted to using one tuner.

The Duo2 you have appears to have the Dual sat tuners so on tuner 1 input top is A bottom is B 2nd Input top is C bottom is D

The LNBs are twin, as shown in the 'diagram'.

your diagrams wrong by the way you cant possibly go 13° - 28.2° - 19.2°

and why did you not just do on the diseqc switch Input 1 - 13 east Input 2 - 19.2 east input 3 - 28.2 east. Port a nd Port B should have been swapped about to make it easier to remember 13-19-28 simple.

anyhow your first picture with the settings if that is how you ports are configured should just be copied to tuner B and thats it.

Just re-read my earlier post. D'oh! Two DiSEqC switches, not six LOL! And yes, I agree with @digi247, keep the ports in simple order. FWIW, I always put 28.2° on port A. Simply because Sky Digiboxes don't support DiSEqC, and most switches default to port A- so in the event the user's receiver is (even temporarily) substituted with a Digibox it should work without having to change anything.

Ahahah, you really freaked me out with the 6 DiSEqC switches, I was like 'wtf is this guy saying as he looks like he knows what he's talking about' :).

Erm, but that is really my set-up, what do you mean by that?

So I have 3 twin LNBs pointing to 13,19,28. Then I get one cable from 13E, one from 19E, one from 28E in one DiSEqC switch, then the other LNB cable in the second DiSEqC switch.

It would be useful not having to change anything as I don't have a ladder anymore and it's a pain to get on the house.

Wait, I've just realised I couldn't get the 3rd LNB (Sky) on the dish so the 28.2E feed is coming from another dish, the actual Sky dish! I will update that diagram later.

This could be the reason I am finding signal for 28.2E on tuner C but nothing on 13/19. But it doesn't make sense as it doesn't really matter that LNB for 28.2E is on another dish, does it?!

No it wont matter as long as all 3 LNB's are connected to the receiver via 2 diseqc switches
