My brother in law has a VM feed and I would like to get him a cable box under £100.

Can you please recommend me a good one? I assume it'll be an Enigma 2 one so interface would be the same?

What matters is the fast channels zapping, clean interface, good usable remote I think.

Please advise.

Thanks.

Got it, thanks!

Is mobi-shop OK, safe as in not selling clones? Bit reluctant to buy off eBay!

Asking as I see some are about £70 but £170 in other places?!

Zgemma H1 mate

Enigma2 enough said really, more configuration options.

make sure there AIR DIGITAL as there the company that make's them

Got the box, didn't manage to power it yet but will do it tonight, I'll have to install mgcamd on it.

Just a few more questions please:

1. Is the installing process similar to other Enigma2 boxes? FTP the box, get the mgcamd file in tmp folder and install it from the menu?
2. What kind of switch should I get to split the feed from the VM box?
3. Is there anything else needed to be set-up, for Vermin?

Yeah you can install ipks for mgcamd that way mate, some images will have downloads for cams also.

It's not a switch it is a spitter youll need to split your cable feed Maplins sell them.

Use OpenATv and you then have cable auto bouquets that will help with your setup.

Alright, I'll flash that and I won't have to install anything on it as it has mgcamd apparently. So it's only the Net ID I'll have to change.

Do I change

digi247 backup will be a good one.

Quick question, according to this list, the Net ID for Croydon is TW 40979 531.000 6.952.

Assuming this is correct, what bits do I add and where? Am I right assuming that just the first numbers matter?

This is how it is at the moment:

Should it be like this?

Configuration mode: enabled
Network ID: 40979
Used service scan type: Provider
Provider to scan: Virgin Media UK (6952)

So just the Network ID to be changed?

Yeah change network id and give it a go.

I can see only see ITV and the EPG is working on some channels. That means I get signal as for the other channels it's the line that's not working or configured properly, right?

Just trying to make sure everything's fine apart from that. Will post later what config file I've used, I'm not home now.

However, Mgcamd shows as active.
