what box

could anyone recommend a good reliable sat box that has a working EPG as its one of my gfs pet hates to not have a list like virg and sly ?

Zgemma star mate. you can get twin sat tuner or a sat and cable tuner version. You get full epg (cross epg)

I have a Vu Plus Solo2 and find it fantastic. It takes a bit of fiddling with to get everything set up but it is a really good box. You can get full working epg for it and is a decent investment in my opinion. I wish you could get sky on demand but I guess I cant expect everything!

Zgemma m8 full EPG

Just looking at the Zgemma on ebay, how does the connections for cable and satellite work as it only looks to have 1 screw on connection?

Cable has the same input as terrestrial ie like an aerial and sat has the F connection (screw) so it has one sat and one cable tuner.

So you would cut the f connector of the cable feed and fit corresponding plug?

If you have a live cable feed to your house you need to have the aerial type connection and plug it into the cable/terrestrial input.
You can also just plug in a aerial to test or set up box as tuner is good for both and if your wanting for just cable then ignore the sat input.
