Good afternoon guys

I have a quad Lnb attached to my dish; it has 4 separate feeds going into 4 rooms.
In the last few days 1 of the feeds is not working, is this the Lnb that needs to be replaced, can 1 of these feeds give up and the other 3 still work?

Quite simply, yes. Try changing the feeds around on the lnb, if the same room receives no signal then it is not the lnb but the connections, cable or the receiver, if different rooms receive no signal then it will probably be the lnb.

ok thanks for the reply will do that like you suggest. When I replace lnb is it just a matter of taking of old 1 and put new 1 in same position, my sky guy tells me that these lnb only last 3/4 yrs. at a time?

I bought a zyndell as that is what is now installed

I have had most of my LNBs for years, they shouldn't fail really but of course the odd ones fail.

The LNB you have is Zinwell not Zyndell, I have never used them myself so I have no idea about their reliability.

Turn off all your receivers before changing the LNB.

Yes, you just replace the LNB in the exact same place, make sure you make a note of the skew (the angle at which the LNB is turned in its holder), assuming you are aimed at Astra 28.2E, then as you look at the dish from in front, the LNB will be turned clockwise at approx. ten-past-two, i.e. as if you were looking at a clock face.

Thank youfor all this information.
I will trythis when I’m back home in a few weeks.
Just offthe topic, would you recommend a gigablue receiver?

Just off the topic, would you recommend a gigablue receiver?

I don't have any experience of them personally, having read many forums, I would say that you might be better off sticking with one of the bigger brands i.e. Technomate, VU or Dreambox.

Perhaps any members who actually own a GiGablue receiver could comment further.
