strong winds hear how u guys doing with ur dishs with the winds

Im having a nightmare here with mine cant watch it for more that 30 seconds without it glitching/freezing:(

take it theres nowt u can do eh!

I was having the same problem last night with the big dish 88 m an hour wind s in west Yorkshire

1.1M dish right on the apex of the house, hasnt moved at all :)

1m dish is getting a bit of wobble, occasionally losing signal, having said that its raining real bad now as well as the wind.

1.25m Gibertini on Actuator Bottom of the Garden on 3" pole with 1.5meter concreted into ground only an earthquake will shift it, Not budged an inch and thats with open fields straight across

Im in IOM and the winds are minimal....

seems to be eastern england and Scot that are suffering?

during the summer i had my 80cm dish replaced for a 1.2m triax dish. during the hurricane winds we had october my dish was ripped of the wall was being held in by a scew. i had it fixed since then its been perfect during the winds we had over the last week but im dreading the winds on monday and see what it brings.2013-10-28 13.24.03.jpg2013-10-28 13.24.23.jpg2013-10-28 13.24.15.jpg

Over the Roof should have gone at least K -T - K for stability with longer Bolts Expansion preferably

any pictures of the old one?

I would worry, a little anyway, (it's a 1.1 btw, or 1.05 or 1m depending where you hold the tape but not 1.2- thankfully), probably won't come off, just wave about like a flag and age the motor fast, although some of those bricks look cracked, if they're cracked round the anchors, especially the top ones, that is really not good & that T at the top = another aerial fitter wos ere'.

edit: why is there a shadow on the T bracket back angle to the wall like there's a gap?

During the height of the storm one day this week, it was virtually impossible to watch anything on 26 east as the lnb in particular was vibrating from side to side. One moment I could get a lock on Dubai One for example but the next moment the lock was lost and then vice versa.

My Triax TD110 and motor are mounted to the wall of the house using a sturdy L-shaped bracket. I think it was a wrong move on my part and I regret not going for T&Ks. I just wish I'd done a little more research before getting that type of bracket.

are my eyes deceiving me it looks like theres no bolt in the right hand of the T bracket, regards mdt

u will be a lot beter using satellite support s for long poles for big dishs do a goggle u will see what I mean I have a prime focus dish 1.2 its been up for over 20 +years its above the roof all ok u need big bolts to ill take some photos to and put them on later on the forum regards simon

why has the K been changed from the top to the bottom? theres alot of pressure on that top T bracket now. id get another set of T+K brackets and stick another K on or even both the K and T,regards mdt
