hiya, over last few weeks i have read about a fair few people getting these inverto lnbs and been very happy with them, i at the minute just have a standard sky lnb like this one

ORIGINAL 4 WAY QUAD LNB FOR SKY+/FREESAT/HD/SKYPLUS LMB | eBay

i dont usually have problems but today it started to rain and although it was quite heavy i wouldnt of said it was a major down pour and i lost my signal for about 15 minnutes while i was watching a film so quite annoyed lol, anyway would buying one of these inverto lnbs help imporve that or not, ive only taken notice of people saying inverto lnbs not model or anything if there is different ones, had a little search on ebay & found this one

Inverto Black Ultra Quad LNB HIGH GAIN (the best lnb) | eBay

so is it worth changing for any benefits or will it make no difference at all ? thanks

I doubt it will make much difference mate your alignment may not be spot on or the dish size may be near the limit,is it a zone 1 or 2?I use a 64cm triax for 28.2/5E near Hull and never get rain fade, and thats with a cheap Lemon quad lnb.

hiya, thanks for reply, im about an hour and abit form you in selby, ive got 80cm dish with that lnb in the link, its on a motor and picks all the satellites up but when it was raining it went off for about 15 minutes, could see the signal strength going up and down so was trying but something just wouldnt let it threw, i have a vu duo so thinking of putting another dish up, a mini dish for 28.2,
think il leave the lnb if its not going to make a difference, wasnt sure it could but read alot saying it had sorted bad signals out on certain boxes etc so dint know if it boosted the signal or something, see what happens next time it rains, thanks

I use these ( MTI I'm guessing ) on my multi sat setup and are perfectly ok on the stronger sats but do struggle on the weaker 1s in adverse weather. You didn't say which sat you were watching when it played up. remember that these lnbs have the skew already built in for 28.2e so on a motorised sysyem that accounts for skew, you would have to compensate for this when setting the lnb ( about 12deg ). I can tell you that i swapped one of these out with atechnomate TM4 on 16e and got about 5% qual increase. I have a motorised system in the shed that i probably wont get round to setting up til next year but I will use a top lnb. you only have to buy 1 so make it a good 1!!!

If you are useing a quad lnb meant for sky dish on a std 80cm sat dish it will not work so well as its designed for the oval shape of the sky dish.so in that case I"d change it for a standard universal quad lnb.you could then use the sky quad lnb on your new mini dish on 28.2. hope this makes sense.
