hi, i have decided i want a channel master/andrews 1m dish because of their high build quality and reliability, i know they are more expensive than normal 1m dishes,

as they have been dicontinued does anyone know where stock might still be available?

a 1.2m version would require planning permission which would cost a small fortune and out of principle i dont wanna pay for it anyway

thanks

well i dont mind putting it up but you never know, one of the neighbours may complain, mind you i live on an end terrace in quite a remote area

with regards to your link this is where i have been looking but they only sell the 1.2m dish now

yes i have but i have read that they are not as good as the andrews type dishes,

what i want is a dish that can be installed and not break down in years to come.

Hi m8.
i being using 1.2 m, motorise dish for past twenty years.with out p,p
no body complaind.
frind of mine is the same.
i don,t thing any body bother with that.
you can put on the pole about two meter high in back garden.
you will get arc 42 east to 45 west with no problom .

a dish cannot 'break down'. only get damaged like everything else.
only things can break down are either the lnb or motor.

just looking through a trade catalogue m8, youd need the dish and a seperate az/el mount for it, as well as a pole and bracketry to mount it on, youd be looking at about £150, whereas a 1M orbital aluminium dish is about £60, if you needed to replace it in 5 years for whatever reasons, itd still work out cheaper

could you tell me exactly what i would need to have an andrews 1.2 motorised setup?

regards

andrews 1.2 dish only, 159.99 plus vat
az/el mount (i dont think this is for motorised, but they dont list polar mounts in this catalogue) 49.95 plus vat

a polar mount would be more

youd also need an actuator to drive the dish, approx 30-50 quid depending on the size needed

a V box to convert diseqc commands from the receiver to 36V commands for the actuator, about 45 quid

a VERY heavy duty mount for it all to go on, approx 100-130 quid, plus weights (concrete slabs and sand bags)

compared to a metal gear diseqc motor for about 60 quid and a dish for 60 quid that can be easily wall mounted or on a smaller ground mount costing about 55 quid

a 1.1M triax dish is about 70 quid m8, 1.1M is the maximum without needing planning permission and will drive on a diseqc motor

Hi digidude

I had my eye on jaeger 1224 motor but this also has just been discontinued, i read on the net that they can be imported from germany at a much lower price than they sold in the uk,

do you know where these are still available

thanks for your advice :)
