1.0m Dish Setup confused

Guys logged onto dishpointer.com and found on the map where I am going to put my dish

Got my lon....
Got my Lat....
Elevation says 31.5 now does this mean the adjustable angle on the dish or the adjustable angle on the motor.

Not sure what angle to put on the dish and Sat

The technomate instructions that came with the motor says put the dish at 31 and the motor at 22.6 and the elevation angle at 39. which is completely different than what dishpointer says

Please help!!

I would post my lon & Lat, but then everybody would know where I live...lol
 
angle on the motor mate me thinks,i just put the dish stright and adjust it till i hit thor then tighten the fecker up

The elevation of your motor needs to be set to your Latitude and your offset needs to be your Longitude. For example here in Manchester our Lat/Long is 53.5 N, 2.1 W. So if you are setting up a motor the elevation for the motor needs to be set to 53.5 and when you align the dish on Hotbird the motor needs to be pointing to 15.1 East. You also need to put your Lat/Long settings into the receiver so the dish can track the satellites correctly. Use these two settings, drive the motor to Hotbird and align the dish. Once aligned check the other satellites and tweak your dish elevation. You do not need to adjust the motor elevation one this has been set.

Thanks for your help so far guys.

Finally got dish up after hours of work. I am trying to get it set up to search for thor2. I am using Nabilosat Enigma2 Black Hole - DM800 v0.12 image and these menus are confusing the hell out of me.... Nothing like the ones pictured on most user guides.

Does anyone have a guide for setting up a motorized dish with Nabilosat image please and I tried a search an nothing came up

after toying around a bit more.....here's an update

to scan for

if needed...to use smargo card reader or other external reader
blue btn>settings>BH xtra kernal modules> then select smargo/other to yes>save

to set up EPG,
Blue btn>settings>BH Epg panel>global settings(set to location to save epg data by scrolling L-R)>save>scroll to desired EPG(SATMATE seems to crash)>green provider settings
select sky_uk in my case>ok>settings>enable auto epg re-fresh, time etc and save>
green btn.>choose channels you want epg details>yellow(download now)

to updates KEYS
BLU>RED

UPDATES/plugins
menu>plugins>ok>green>scroll andselect if any are required by user

to add a device ext hdd/usb storage
blue>settings>devices mangr>select device>format/mount

to update addons/plugins/sat settings

green>yellow>addons dnld mngr>select what cams you want
mine is 2.1.3 can add boxkey later in DCC for s##

green>yellow>addons mngr> picons>sk# uk>ok

green>yellow>addons mngr>script>select where to save EPG

green>yellow>addons mngr>settings>Likra

to scan for sats:
menu>setup>service searching>tuner config for single or diseqc or positioner(enter long and lat here)
menu>setup>service searching>positioner set up>

green>yellow>addons mngr>Latest 10 uploads>nab keys>ok

and anything else you need

reboot box

I did complete sat re-scan ,pain, but all HD and interactive chans are there

Been trying to get the sat to move for a couple of hours and no joy. Has green light on sat motor, Does it tell you on my tv screen if the sat is moving (As its down the end on the garden and i cant see it)

There as so many settings within the Tuner Config, reception settings menu. Do I choose simple , Advanced. and do I choose thor sat in here and also put my long and lat in here?

This fecking is doing my head in. I connected the dish to my dm500s pli jade inage and the dish seems to move.

Gone back to my dm800s and i cant get the dish to move. There are so many more options on this menu......

Does it actually say on the screen that the dish is moving on DM800, NAB V.12

Im starting to hope the wind blows this fecker down over the weekend so I can get some sanity back. Did anyone else have this trouble setting one of these up that could point and idiot in the right direction please

Been trying to get my dish to work today and the motor stopped moving. Looked in the instructions and it says

If the dish only moves for 1 second and stops with an amber light on motor then it's fooked and needs to be sent back.

Fecking great!!!!

I booked a days holiday tomorrow so i could spend it messing around

What motor you got? I seem to remember mine getting a bit moody if you swapped STB around. On my motor there is a reset button, sometimes trying goto reference on the motor page can help

Technomate 2600 super

Instructions say manually move motor back to 0 before resetting....

The motor will not move for longer than a second before stopping and amber light comes on. The dish is stuck at a right angle... :(

Will have another try tomorrow. I feel like a kid on Christmas eve who wants to open his presents and play with them now mate...... Bloody frustrated :(

So are you using the dm800 or dm500 at the moment? I just wonder if the DC line power from one of the stb is a little low to drive the motor.

Thanks for the moral support m8. Normally when I get a project started I( can't rest until it's 100% right... This one has been a bit over my head and will be well happy when its all up and running.... I can't wait ....lol
