Just bought one of these but cant seem to find any transponders ect hooked to cable . I connected box via serail lead and insatlled gemini 2.6 . is this all i need to insatll on box the image only , that is what i was told .
If not please could someone advise me what other software i need to install , thanks also does the lock and sync boxes , should they be ticked when im doing a transponder scan , i only ever seenthem ticked once but even then found no channels .??

maybe try gemini 2.9 or 3

then do a scan for 6887 n*l

or 6952 T*W

but yeah you should go into automatic scan and select one of the above if they cover your area

Hi there is more to be done to get these images going i would suggest download gemini 3 backup image from downloads and do a scan i think it,s got bruteforce scan however if you want to get this 2.6 image going you need cable xml file say bruteforce for eg and ftp that in var/etc then do a scan you will need internet connection to download cams etc from gemini blue panel then there is isue off k*ys you need to find these and put them in right folders have look in dreambox section you will find your answers pretty much everything is there you need to know**Zaf786**

ok downloaded 2.9 but the dreamup software only recognise *.bin or *.img files am i using the wrong software please...which one should i be using t...thanks

having trouble coonecting via ethernet , checked connections as folows for crossover ,. pin 1---3 pin 2---6 pin 3---1 pin6----2

are these correct ?
set ip addresses ect as per flash wizard instructions ect but cannot talk to receiver ? any ideas please ?

ok manage to get pc to talk to box via ethernet can see folders ect , but tried many times to flash box using flashwizzard , unable to get conection when opening folder , checked ip address in config ect ...help ?

you probaly need 2 set up the settings on your dream box if gemini image
menu>setup >expert set up >communication setup

There are plenty of excellent guides posted here to set-up your db,your gonna have to do some searching/reading.

hi tried folowing stickys , but keep on getting " error code 10061 in function connect conncetin freused " message , my ip addreses ect must be corrcet as when i ping the box via pc i can access the files in the box , just cannot connect via flashwizard , is there any other way i can flash the box ?
dream up does not support the file type im trying to use ....? thanks for any replies

hello ye s, finally figured it out , it was my zone alarm not allowing me to connect , sorted , managed to flash with gemini 2.9 did auto search but after long long wait it did not find any channles , is set to ntl 6887 correct though but no luck searching , now trying to see if i should use smartftp to manually enter channels?

Hi what area are you in try a bruteforce scan if no luck it takes ages but maybe your only option** Zaf786**put the bruteforce file in var/etc via ftp then reboot and do a scan

in ntl area ta ill try that c an i drag and drop the file once i opened up folders in dreambox?

Hi yes you can drag and drop when you do a scan don,t abort let it do a full scan it takes a while**Zaf786**

ok well now im really confused dragged and dropped the files , did a complet escan , says no signal , then i thought id just try telewest sacn , well i used to be ntl did not know ..but it started finding channels ....but in th eend although there are channels now , it says no signal ??? checked all connections ..ok any ideas ? sorry for this long saga .

Hi if it has found channels they should be there what i s the exact message**Zaf786**

hello Zaf , the message is " this service does not currently send a signal "
although the channel range is not i believe full . Do you think its my signal level
the snr varies between 65-70 % most of the time , but i checked it on nt box in their eng menu its about the same. Just to be sure I soldered the inner connection on the coax connection .
How can i be dead cert I am in telewest area , can i check in eng menu in original box ? what do i look for ?
And which bouteq file is assigned for which areas please , I used the following files , : gemini 2.9 flash an and the file u sent me to put in var /temp folder , i just drag and dropped them and then rebooted the dream box.
Or am i missing keys as when i look in key folder its empty .....how do i get them please if thats the case ? thanks for your help .

Your gonna need to get into the eng menu of your subbed box and post up the net id.
From this the provider can be confirmed,what is the make/model of your subbed box?
