So I have recently installed in my other half house a vu duo2 downstairs (single dvb-c and 2xdvb-s) and a Dm800se upstairs. There was only one cable feed going into the vm TiVo box however my other half said she could record 2 and watch another channel How is this possible if there was only one cable feed? Confused. Could someone help explain. Thanks

There is one connector on the casing. The signal is split to the different tuners on the circuit board.

The Vu+ twin hybrid tuners has the same, one connector for wire. Signal split inside.

Note:
Tuner = recording/access to a frequency. Not channels!
With one tuner, you can record many channels on one frequency. Not just one channel
With two tuners, you can record many channels on two frequencies. Not just two channels.

But my understanding is the vu duo hybrid tuner isn't split between cable and T2/T not multiple frequency on cable. Correct?
Currently I use one tuner slot for a 2xdvb-s and the second tuner slot for a dvb-c/t/t2 tuner (but this only allows one feed for cable)

You can only use tuner in DVB-T or DVB-C mode, not both at the same time.

The cable tuner card (single or two) both have only one connection for an incoming signal wire. The "two tuners on one card" version splits/shares the signal internally.

If you have a single tuner card, you can record multiple channels on one DVB-C requency.
If you have a twin tuner card, you can record multiple channels on two DVB-C frequencies. You only connect one signal wire to the card.

so the virgin tivo boxes can take one feed and split between 3 spearate tuners to record 3 different frequencies at once.
