The patch by Lraizer was added to the Vix image on 24/05/2014. The OpenATV image was updated a few days later. The menus for epg settuings was then merged in the Vix image on 02/06/14 menus. Pli merged in on 04/06/2014. These menus were then merged into openATV as well as other OE-A images on 14/06

Whichever image you use, make sure it is after the dates above.

Can I not try a software update on the image I already have, or will it have to be a fresh flash of the newest image after the above dates

I use xmltv import available through plugins downloads gets a full 7 day EPG and is easy to edit the xml file to add any missing info, the only downside is its slow but I set it to update in the early hours.

I tryed that xmltv import but still the same I tick both virgin sorces, but the import is 0 and if I use epg refresh that will not change, I'm going to try a new image later on

Did you use the xml files I posted earlier because I only have one source for VM called Virgin cable? and sometimes it takes awhile to get going.

Some picons I had missing ie: forces tv, ginx, notts tv and a few others. View attachment picons.rar

yes I added that but incase iv done it wrong were do I add files, is it directly into ect? or is it in a folder in ect I add they files
 
IN ect you should have a folder named epgimport they go in there.

No epg import folder, only xmltvimport folder mate, and can't find a plugin for it in feeds

you can use any .png files ,any size but best to resize to a reasonable size they have to be named to match the service id for them to appear. 100x60 gives you a good idea what they will look like in use.

put the xml files in xmlimport they should work.

Are png files not picons, the problem I'm having is no epg on some channels

Picons are working, as I said its a problem with epg not coming up on channels, 5hd, living, comedy central ect

I believe that Gjstroom only fixed the online updates for 4.1 a few days ago.

Reflash would be best. You can always backup current image if in doubt.

reflashed using Gjstroom openatv image 2014-06-20, so if I do a online update that should fix the epg problem im having

also epg there is a better way, instead of using online source for epg, recent versions Openpli and OpenATV 4.0 , EPG just works from the off, EPG till next day 6am , on openpli may need to go into EPG settings and enable virgin, to get full 7 day epg , install EPG Refresh from plugins , extensions , set it to flick to channel called PVR_EPG for 2 mins, set it when box wont be being watched , this will get full 7 day on all channels,

i find this better then rytec, as you never get any missing epg or relying it to be updated, its like OpenTV which is used on sky

Glad you are sorted.

To answer question from above quote, there is no need to perform update if you have image after the dates I mentioned above. Just make sure you enable Virgin EPG in the EPG settings. You can then zap to the PVR_EPG channel regualary, or get the EPG refresh plugin to do it for you automatically.
 
Iv got it set to run after cross epg, I done the update anyway and everythings good the way I want it thanks
