Box makes whistling noise

Guys has anyone had this problem where you can hear a buzzing noise from tv?? Iv tried different tv and images but same problem. The noise is only when tv is on. Is it coming from the ethernet port??

have you checked all your connections ????

Sorry but it reminds me of an old joke e-mail.
Problem: Box makes whistling sound.
Solution: Whistle taken of box, and told sternly not to blow it again

Erm on the serious side depending on how good your hearing is it could be the transformer in the appliance. The elctric current causes tiny vibrations which can be heard as a hum or whistle. Not that that info helps cure it.

Dont know the technical explanation for it but if you have a TV that accepts s-video signal through a scart lead then use s-video in the video settings on the box,doesn't completely get rid of it but it is a hell of a lot better,

or else use composite leads if you have them,even if you need to connect them to a scart/composite adaptor at the TV end.

so this sound is a common problem?? its not my boxes that are faulty is it?

Nah m8 I have had this on every DM500 I ever owned,as I said either use svideo or composite leads and its problem solved more or less
