If you can still boot the box up, ftp the img you want to flash to the tmp dir then go in to the box menu > service > backup / flash then choose flash w/o bootloader

dreamup should work if you are using a null modem cable. don't connect the box/turn power on until you hit the "connect" button in Dreamup.then you should get a message saying something like.."box is attached/ready"
click on "flash" button, then pick the image you want to be flashed.
don't forget to say NO to "flash erase"

a few boxes i am getting from peng have images on em that lock up when uploading the new flash

instead i just telnet the new image and do it that way and it works

its says connection ready plug in power. when i do nothing hap. my pc goes really slow and hard to move the mouse. the flash button dose not light up. so i cant flast through dreamup. can someone please tell me how i can flash with network cable insted of null moden cable please. as the image is on the box is not that good. and wanna put dw image onto it.

thanks graeme

Try this

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Telnet Commands

To flash an image using Telnet

To telnet, click START > RUN and type Telnet ip.address.of.dreambox
A command window will appear, enter username root and password dreambox.

You might need to turn telnet on if running vista see here

This method will only work with a .img image file.

Rename the image file to backup.img

FTP the image file to the /tmp folder on the dreambox

Telnet to your box and paste the following command:
Code: Check this link
cd /tmp && eraseall /dev/mtd/3 && cp backup.img /dev/mtd/3 && reboot

To telnet, click START > RUN and type Telnet ip.address.of.dreambox
A command window will appear, enter username root and password dreambox.

info took from another website.

I cant remember the menu system to flash from enigma. Its under update then manual then you select the renamed file 'root.cramfs' but the above should work too.

Contact dvdmonkey anyway and await what they say, and in meantime when you send me it we can try get it up and running for you.

Cant think of anything else mate. The connection might be loose inside and just need a wee fiddle But you might **** the warranty.
