I've managed to get all my cable channels into media center without the use of tuner.

This allows me to watch all channels using my DMA2100 and Xbox360 in every room in the house.

To do this you'll need Mr Dudes modified PLI Jade image, I've tried with the Neutrino beta and DW image and it doesn't work.

You'll also need DVBSBridge Pro for Dreambox available here
DVBLogic - provider of digital streaming connectivity solutions

You'll also need an xmltv grabber from XMLTV GUI

To begin with setup the Dreambox and the channels you require to a single bouquet.
You'll also need to configure network settings to give you a fixed IP Address.
The Dreambox and Media center will need to both be hard wired into your router

Now install the DVBSBridge driver, you can pretty much follow the instuctions provided, once installed change your I.P adress for the dreambox and change the Dreambox streaming port to 31344.

You can then sync your channels, after this you can use the XMLTV grabber to grab some listings for the channels in your bouquet. Then map these channels in the configuration tool. Again the manual provided with DVBSBridge is very good. Now you can setup media center, it won't work well if you already have a dvb-t tuner install so is suggest uninstalling this.

I've tested this on Windows 7 (7020) and it works but streaming sucks to extenders. It works beatifully on Vista X64.

The EPG is a bit odd in that you have to go to the channel for it to load, but once loaded you get a 2 week epg.

Video quality is excellent as you'd expect.

I take it that the channel changes are dealt with via the network rather than the IR blasters?

Channel changes on done using web calls. The only connection you need between MCE and the Dreambox is network.

sounds dood may have a play over the weekend

Sorry another question

Can you view BBC HD via this method?

I haven't tried HD yet as I have a DVB-s card in the back of the media center which i can watch BBC HD from.

Do you think you could give it a go and let us know the out come?

Works great all channels showing, not tried recording but dont see a problem.......... tried streaming BBC HD but wouldnt work (no picture or audio), but that was using a dm500 and 600.

Would be nice to get BBC HD working, as I understand it people hace recorded the stream before and got it to play on a PC

I have managed to record bbc hd in the past (streaming from dreambox to pc) usually breaks up a bit at first. I've not tried it for a while because i now use a dvb-s card.

BBC HD works but the picture breaks up on fast moving pictures as the dreambox 500c wasn't meant to transfer HD, max transfer 18mb need 20mb or maybe 22mb..

using windows7 32bit 4meg ram and xbox360, hard wired..
