listen, ive just been told i can download the latest key addon direct from digyworldz, but i need to have the box connected to my ethernet cable and also to a screen so that i can see what iam downloading, so i looked at the back of the dreambox and i can see a "video" socket, is that video input or a video output, iam hoping its an output as i have one of those on my pc monitor ??

No, you don't need to do that. Perhaps what the person meant was that you need to have your box connected to your TV so you can see what the IP of your box is. You do however need to connect your 500c to your computer via ethernet (or via router etc).

There are plenty of posts that will tell you exactly what to do.

You can see what you are downloading on your PC! You dont need to download anything via the dreambox. Download the fixes (with your PC and err, PC monitor!) and FTP to the dreambox. I wont repeat the full instructions, they are all in the forum.

the fix is available to download via the addons menu.

That means that the dreambox needs to be connected to a router and you need to see what you're doing on screen to be able to do it.

Other than that, connect the dreambox to your PC and apply the AU fix. No need for a tv for that.

ok mate, cheers, what about that video socket then, is that video input or output ?

not on the db m8 only on dbox

what you mean, iam talking about on the dreambox500c, theres a video socket in the back, is that an input or output, sorry i didnt make my question clearer ?
