Hi

Ok I Have Connected My Dreambox 500c About A Month Ago. Basically The Problem Is My Broadband Connection Keeps Cutting Out And Modem Keeps Restarting.

My Layout Is Splitter ------ Yellow Booster ---- Dreambox

I Personally Think Its The Yellow Booster Taking All The Signal For The Dreambox Resulting In My Internet Connection Getting Limited Signal! HOWEVER THE DREAMBOX IS OK.

Any Suggestions/answers/opinions? ?

Thanks

Why not put the booster before the splitter? Thats the way I have mine setup and it works well enough to supply 2 DreamBox's and a modem without any problems

DOES IT AFFFECT THE INTERNET IF THE COAXIAL FROM THE BOOSTER TO THE MODEM UPSTAIRS HAS GOT A LONG CABLE RUN? I GET THE FEELING THAT COULD BE IT?

No, unless the cable isn't of good enough quality.

If its good quality cable then you should be able to run it into another room without to much of a drop in signal quality/strength.

However, if the cable isn't of good (enough) quality then it will cause a significant drop in signal quality - I had this problem when putting a cable box in my room - which could explain the problems your having

yeah it could be... I bought the cable from maplins.. it was quite expensive so it better be good quality!!

Will try your layout tonight .. Booster > Splitter > Dreambox

If that don't work then i will be pissed off more :)

ME personally ive just got a 3 way splitter direct from the box on the wall, 1 goes to me dreambox and other internet connection, ive never had any probs. but i suppose it maybe i live close to the main signal box

WHat are the signal levels on your modem. If they are too low that will be why its dropping connection and if it cant get locked on after a period it restarts and try again.
Post up the signals from your modem from 192.168.100.1 pages.
Also as mentioned above, its defineately worth putting the booster infront of the splitter, it makes sence specially see-ing as how hight that thing can boost.
Thanks
