Heya there,
The last week or so I got hold of a cloned DM500c (I presume it's cloned - it cost £75!) and hooked it up in great anticipation to my cable feed to replace my ageing Sagem dbox.
The dbox never has a signal issue, never misses a channel. It's brilliant. Or was before I realised how slow it was compared to a genuine dreambox I've seen in action.
Sadly, on hooking the cloned DM500c I shelled out for up to my feed I discover that it misses a whole host of channels whilst scanning - using various images - usually the Red Hot series of channels, Nickelodeon, and a whole load of others.
So, following the excellent advice on this board I grabbed a yellow brick booster thinking that might sort the issue.
Sadly not. the booster got rid of the BER but still I was missing the same channels as before.
So then I try various attenuators on the feed and again, channels missing, high BER etc etc.
This is all, by the way, with a direct and clean feed - no splitters etc in place. I've tried various images as I said, various cams, a total clean wipe of the DM500 and reflashing - all several times and all with no joy.
So, now I'm debating whether to splash out on a Dm600c at £199? Or grab hold of a second hand d-box, via e-bay, for about £160.
I'm scared that with the DM600c I'll have the same signal issues?
Any advice greatly appreciated on any of this...
Cheers for now to you all!
