dm500 problem !!!

just having a few probs with a clone box, when the box has been on for about an hour and its been left on a channel the red light keeps flickering and the box continually turns itself on and off, but if its in the menu system or running a scan its fine. I have tried a few differant images and the same keeps happening. Could it be down to the power lead? or is the box a goner?

definately not the power, tried different lead, any ideas what i can do with it?

When it starts not working is the box very hot if you put your hand on top of it?

Yeah i just asked because i have a clone and when its been on a while it starts playing up so i fitted a heat sink to the cpu and its fine now. Looks like you have a different problem.

hmmm its annoying me, must be a fault on it somewhere, just hope someone has resolved the same probs!!! thanx tho'!!

Clearly hardware. If you are using a booster try removing it and see if that makes any difference (even tho you migth have no picture ;-)



My mate has gone thru 16 clones and no problems at all. I dont think anyone really differentiates between them , the last batch of genuine dream boxes my friends have used had power and tuner problems galore.

Edited: dont suppose someone else has a conflicting remote? what happens if you put insulation tape over IR

not got a signal booster, lines strong as anything, I had 20 of them 19 worked perfect without any problems what so ever, don't think its a conflicting remote because all I do is turn the tv on without remote and turn the dreambox on and leave it, then after about an hour it starts going mental, red light flickers like mad and dreambox keeps turning on and off, I do have a spare dreambox tho', would it be advisable to swap out the tuners and see if the problem is still occuring or would it be nothing to do with the tuner?
