2 new boxes DOA?

2 new boxes dead on arrival. Help!

Just got 2 new boxes from DVB.

Both don't come up with any menus when I turn them on!

Any suggestions?

friend had same thing, if you are getting a green light try dreamup ...
 
you will need to flash the original firmware using dream-up and then you will be able top flash your required modify image. bothe the original firmware are available at dream multimedia in download section. its pretty easy to get it going. any more trouble let me know. by the way you will also need flash wizard pro 6.3 as well.

I have used DreamUp to flash the original 1.09 (and then tried the original 1.08) and neither made any difference.

Yes.

I'm getting the kind dark grey/black slow flashing screen that I first saw when the latest revision of the boxes came out and you tried to flash a firmware with older drivers.
 
on the front of the box there are 2 small led. one lights up red when in standby and one lights up green when in on position are either coming on?

As I said above, yes the green light is coming on when I plug it in.
 
so that means the box switches on fine. try reflashing it may be you have had a bad flash.
 
I take it, after flashing 1.09 with DreamUp you would expect to see the startup screens if you restarted the box (by pulling out the power)?

Same result on the second box.

Flashes fine. Green light when turned on that responds to remote. But the screen has a just visible slow flash between dark grey and black.

i had similar probs but mine didnt respond to remote

but still black screen

i sent it back

waiting for replacement
 
just try erasing the flash twice with dreamup then reflashing it. this worked for me.
 
Sounds daft but just check the scart cable with another (if you havent already) to be on the safe side, seems a bit odd getting the same on both boxes.

Not that stupid...

I went next door to borrow a box I did for a neighbour to check that (the wiring is hell to get at in this setup, so it was easier).

No luck. And the double Flash erase, followed by a getting desperate double flash image didn't work either.
 
Not saying you are stupid, but you never said you had checked the cables before. Only trying to help you out ffs: tosser :
 
Horrible isn't it, you try and help and get an angry answer...

He is probably using a RF lead from the dreambox to the telly on CH36??. Or something. lol
