which images have built in bootloaders ?

having trouble updating my DM800 HD, tried updating bootloader then got No CA found error. have searched loads of threads and have tried the patched dreamup and am currently downloading an image via null modem cable.
i also read that you can get images with built in bootloaders so any ideas which ones these are in case im trying to install the wrong bootloader for the image.

just flashed the box with an image but seems to be now stuck on message " box is flashing from its memory, but the progress bar hasnt moved in 15 mins !

All images come with bootloaders included most images are released with the bootloader version stated in the title or readme.

It will take around a hour with DreamUP to complete flashing with just null cable.

If not try flashing again with another image, but if flash the bootloader first. If your choosing say a 84b image then flash the 84b bootloader first. You can flash the bootloader via in bin format via Dreamup.

where can i find the bootloader file ?

i did try and flash a bootloader file before , then rebooted box before reflashing image and still got the No CA error.

maybe im using a duff bootloader file ?

cheers for that, got the bootloader updated finally, and box has come back on and is working with image that was on before, thought this would have been erased when i was trying to update it before, relive that it didnt !!
think i will leave alone lol
So now as the bootloader has updated, can i now just flash an image compatible with this bootloader without updating the bootloader again ?

No mate as you found out the bootloader does do do any harm to the image currently installed and if you had a no ca error just flashing the bootloader alone can recover it.

i always flash the bootloader.nfi after the image before re-boot just to be safe and its never failed me yet,regards mdt
