How do i set up Vonets VAP11G USB WiFi Bridge correctly?!

Ok right click and disconect the wireless connection then reconnect this time it should say connected but show not connected on the little icon. Then remove the network cable from the box and reconnect it and wait about 15 seconds it should connect your box then. I no its a little frustrating but you will get there.

sorry for my delayed response....still does not work...

bridge is connected now with that method as it has my sky router details on it...

but still unconfirmed ip address :grayno:

i have one worry that the cable im using isnt a crossover...how can i tell?

look on both ends of the cable and see are the colours lined up the same each end. If they are its not crossover.

Have a look here. Google

****ing hell

sorry boss

this is not crossover. the cables line up the same each end.

just ordered a crossover on play trade for £1

when it comes ill have another bash

sorry for wasting your time.

why does these network things need crossover anwyay?!!

Not a waste off time mate but your nearly there, I would return the vonets unit as it must be faulty. I have used a few of them and they seem ok. The way you are connecting now I used as temporary method while waiting on a bit off kit to arrive. Crossover is used when connecting 2 devices directly as opposed to a switch or a hub/router etc crossover cables reverses the transmit and receive signals.

sorry i have been away, i was not ignoring you!
im back now and i have the cross over cable!

plugged cable in...

test shows still no pick up ip address :-(

pissed.

I know its a pain but go through cuebase instructions again but now using the xover cable if still no good the as cuebase says return the vonets as it must be faulty

did this mate.

same old stuff, cant pick up ip address

Ash, are you still trying to use the bridged connection. On your laptop check if both the wireless connection and the wired connection show diconected and check that the brige connection shows connected. Then check you have internet access on your laptop. If all that is in place go to a pay chanell on your box disconnect he lan conection from the box and reconnect it and it should clear.

CHAPS.

this is what my network status is like. did what you said but still pay channels no work!!
please advise!!
cheers

HI

whatever ive done has given me an ip address BUT no nameserver and the pay channels still not working...

what do i do about this nameserver business?

Is DHCP on or off on he box, has the line your a using been tested working anywhere.

Maybe dont bother with routers that only have b and g compliance. I have a samsung galaxy europa and works brilliantly. Ok you dont need one of these but these phones come with the 'N' Compliance as well as all B and G ones. So, I'm saying that maybe it is the specs on the Vonet which are incorrect. Try it and see if it works

I have had the same problem but I have solved it .. it is you need to do install the program on the computer and then start it then coming there's 2 field on top of each other, you choose your internet wifi name on the bottom and then go on the top felt and selects it and so far completed

I'm having trouble setting the Vonets VAP11G USB WiFi Bridge too. I'm trying to use it with my Ariva 120 combo.
I've followed all the instructions; loaded up software found my vodafone wireless router. Installed winpcap. Connected
bridge to laptop using RJ45 and usb, got 100% signal to router and then i was prompted with "configuration completed sucessfully"
So disconnected bridge from laptop and inserted into Ariva using RJ45 and usb. Have ensured that my DCHP on both the router and Ariva is enabled. But still the Ariva does not connect to the internet and has no ip adressed assigned?
Anybody have ever have a similiar problem and get it solved?
Malermester can you expand on how you solved the problem from the previous post?

Got sorted. At it all weekend. If anyone needs help with vonets and routers give me a shout

Just a note to anyone trying to run one of these with a Skybox F3, they will not work unless encryption is turned of on the router.
