Hi guys,
could someone show me the procedure for remotely accessing my dm500s server?

im assuming i would have to open the telnet, ftp and login ports,
and in DCC instead of putting in the dreambox local ip address ie 192.168.1.100, i should just put in my external ip address?

would appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction..
Regards,
CrazyFool.

Do you have dynamic dns setup mate, you will need to to access the box remotly

yes ddns is set up and rolling.
so i just put the ddns in?
do i need to put like port number in after my ddns?
how exactly would i do it?

would it be myserver.dyndns.org:16000
or myserver.dyndns.org:192.168.1.100

Cheers.

Just your external ip followed by the port number mate

port number and IP seperated by :

(colon)

HTH

what would you need to do this for, can you watch your dreambox remotely, or is just to tend to the server remotely!

tend to the server immediately mate.
i've come to my brothers house to sort his cline out cos hes a bit thick.

just incase i need to access the server etc.

Thanks for the help guys,
will let you know how i get on.

just open a port on his router
dreambox ip:port80/21 and insert your dyns details on the router so every time you want to access your brothers dreambox use, mydydns.com:80/21 for ftp client
enter username:root
password:dreambox

Thanks buddy.
i went over to my brothers just now.
i wanted to ftp back into my server.

i forgot to open up 21 on my router so wasnt able to ftp in hehe.

i opened up the telnet and cccam ports though, so i could check my ecm's etc from over there.

so i have to open up port 80 for ftp too huh?

Cheers,
CrazyFool.

You will probably need to open up port 22 on your router to access your server as Port 22 is Secure FTP.

Regards

Liam
