Hi

Box been working fine for months but will not boot so want reflash.

Got the IP address on booting, when i type it in i get following -

This is the DM800 bootloader Web Interface.

If you see this, your box didn't boot to Linux.
Unless you interrupted the boot process, this usually means that you have no valid operating system in flash.
Don't panic! It's not a problem. You can just flash a new version and everything will be fine!
Otherwise, you can boot from network or USB.
If you're about to give up, you might get help at the Dream Multimedia Support board!
Currently there aren't many other features...

You can download your current flash contents (64 MB) here, but please don't expect to be able to flash it back. It's merely a debugging feature.
This device's Serial Number is 40845, and was built on 2008/10/29.

Booloader version: Dreambox Second Stage Loader BUILD #72, built 20090303

Anyone help ????

open the box and make sure the sim is in properly....press it down and put some tape on it.

What does the simm look like mate. Know them on NTL box's...lol

The SIM looks exactly like the small SIM that goes into mobile phones. Take the cover off the box, it normally sits in it's slot on the board, in the top left hand corner of the box, under the tuner behind the LCD display.

Is this a common problem ?

My box is just sits sits with vm linux or something written on lcd.

I think it is a known issue, if the SIM is loose or lifts up from the contacts in it's socket it can cause this issue.
You can put a small piece of tape or bluetak on top of it to keep it pressed down firmly in it's socket.
This might not be the issue your having but it's worth checking.

I had the same problem and had to connect the rs232 cable and using dreamup reflashed the bootloader with a bootloader 72 i found on the net, restarted box and it fired up and has worked perfectly since

If the Sim isn't reading it will not show bootlaoder #72 in the webloader but will only show bootloader #59. when it comes up with that message click on where it says upgrade firmware and reflash your image.
