I would like to connect a Dreambox to a mobile dongle, i can see it can be done with a 3g router, which is probably my best option i guess.

But i wondered is there anything i can download and put on the dreambox to act as a router, i have a usb dongle with a connection to make it an ethernet connection but of course it wont work straight from the dreambox.

Any ideas people, i can test this on a 500s or 800s.

There is no way as far as i know to go straight to a dm box as it needs to host and have drivers installed.

The only way you can use a usb dongle is to either buy a router that supports a usb dongle, or ics through a lptop/pc.

the 800 has drivers for wireless dongles with specific chipsets on some images, as far as i know, it wont work with wireless 3G ones though as theres no actual server details to forward onto the receiver to tell it that its connected to a network

Thats what im getting m8, looks like the best option is a 3g router i've seem them for about 40 quid is that a good price, or is there some specifics needed.

Great bit of kit the tm600 by the way, and how did you get on with the Sly hybrid or dont ask lol.

the sly hybrid lol

sly boxes internal organs are HUGE, and if you remove some, then the rest of it dies

so im now on the lookout for one of the 12v pace javelin mini boxes :)

Great info, can't we just add the drivers for the 3g dongles to the dm800 though?
