got my dm800 clone today and had it all setup with nabilo v12 within about an hour and all looked good.

I then tried to watch Sky Sports HD1 and it would hold the picture and would keep breaking up. Sky Sports HD2 seems to be fine. How can I sort this out?

The other problem is is that I have to keep altering the position of the satellite on every satellite I go to. Im using the same long & lat as what I did on the TM9100 and that was fine. Is there anway of storing the positions of the satellites once Ive adjusted them?

Really not impressed so far, cant see why people would rather have these over the TM!!!

tuners are shte ......even on origs/// just add an inline amp..works no probs here

Thanks for that mate.

Will I need to buy the bit that goes on the end of the lnb cable (that screws onto the satellite). Sorry, I dont know what its called!!

hes refering to the small bit 6inch cable u attach amp to.
Im using the same long & lat as i did on my 600
but if you play with ur west numbers i find its getting all sats fine and only need to adjust when on astra.

what process do you follow when trying different west numbers? I sort of tried that earlier. I was just changing the west numbers and changing a channel on the same sat, but with no luck

Possibly refering to 6ins of coax with f connectors on each end ,so you join amp inline, it needs to go inline so it breaks cable ....dish, lnb ,coax ,to house f connector ,Amp f conector, 6 ins coax,f connector receiver
Dont know what size dish but 90cm or possible 1 mtr if in uk should suffice without amp ...
this may help
Regards Boris

I use the amp for the trouble channels but find the amp makes the like of ESPNHD and others disappear. This box is one piece of $h1t. Wish I never bought one. Have 3 tm9100 running no problem much better box. I've already had to strip down the box, install a big fan and to add/remove amp depending on what channels I want to watch and it won't drive my dish, utter crap.
I now have the DM800 running as a server for my system, Its not even connected to a dish.

ive only had minbe half a day and im fed up with it already, never had this amount of trouble with the tm9100. Going by the stuff im reading on the net, it doesnt get much better.

I really dont get why theres so much hype about these boxes

it all depends where you get dm800. Quality varies alot.

I also think they are shite...

Ready to dump mine to be honest, but don't know what I would use instead?????

I need CCcline use and usals motor support.

Optional maybe streaming to my PC.???

Any Ideas?

Skystar HD2 perhaps? heard very good things about them but think its fairly hard to set up. What is your problem with the dm800?

DM800

Reboots during tuning to a HD S2 channel.

Changed tuner
Modded tuner
Replaced PSU
Replaced system board capacitors
Dreamed up

Worked after the capacitor change for about 2 days.

DAMN! Im looking st buying one of these but this has put me off a little I must say!

Where did you get this from mate?

everyone should read this and never buy a dreambox 800 cuzz we have all bin ripped off by thease c'''ts we all have the same probs they are proper shit boxes i carn't wait till my kids smash mine they have broken everthing els in the house, i carn't sell it, well i could but won't get much for it,i paid £270 for mine and it lasted 2 weeks but i am useing a inline booster signals very week but does work if i don't serf the net at the same time,And when i asked for it to be fixed cuzz i only had it 2 weeks they dident want to know,i got mine from cloneboxes or somthin like that,i won't bother with another dreambox again clone or not cuzz they don't do all the thing they supposed to,sozz i bout my spelling lol

Wow... you guys are pissed !!!

Quality really does seem to vary loads between sellers. I got mine for just under £170 (which included P&P etc) about 8 months ago from a well know chinese seller who has been mentioned a few times on this forum, and the only problem i have with it, is that it skips on 2-3 HD channels. I can live with this, as an original box costs £400 and not being able to watch 2 HD channels is worth a saving of £230 in my opinion.

I initially thought that the box didnt support usals, but turns out i was just being a tit. Box is working fine now with my motor, and i have now even installed a 320GB HDD a couple of weeks ago. I can even stream the box to any pc/laptop around the house via my network, and i can even stream HD vids from a PC to my dreambox. The box is also used as a cccam server, which runs 24/7 and i dont seem to have any instability issues either! I am more than happy with my clone

There are plenty of threads on this forum by people who have had several 800 clone issues, but they have usually been resolved. Even my HD channel glitches can be resolved, which i am currently working on, and will post back with results when my parts arrive.

All i can say is that if you are unhappy, there are other alternatives, but dreamboxs will remain one of the most popular linux set-top box's around due to its huge community, variety of images and its easy to use software/plugins, clone or not!
