Magic eye on DM800HD?

with afkin reply like that
maybe u dont understand wot a bit more info is doh

Isn't a magic eye one of those things you stare at and go cross eyed!?!

If he is talking about the magic eye remote extender, i dont think you can use one as the connections are like the ones you find on a tv areal / tv set!

Edit:
I have googled and have come across some that support sky... perhaps these will have coax connections or adapters. if it works with a sky box, aint no reason it shouldnt work with a dreambox, but after reading this, im not making any promises!

Do some more research or contact the manufacturer/seller - I read It is compatible with UK digital satellite receivers with an output marked RF-OUT 2 that is capable of providing 9v DC - Try it, you cant really go wrong with only £5!!!

To watch upstairs, use a laptop - or build a cheap pc... i built a micro atx pc for around £80 with a combination of first and second hand parts!
If you want to watch different channels than downstairs, get a twin lnb and a 2nd dreambox!

to change channel, you can just use the enigma web interface

I've got a quad LNB in the shed,if i fit that then buy another box(when funds allow)maybe get the kids one each aswell, would they be able to watch different channels to each other?

Exactly... each feed from the lnb will allow different channels to be watched on a receiver! i would recommend a cheap 2nd hand dm500 (1st hand ones cost around £50) or any other linux reciever so you can CS - if you only want fta channels any old receiver will do the trick

How do i go about fitting one or can't you?

The magic eye used with sly boxes doesn't send the picture, the cables do that. All the eye does is allow you to control the box from a remote location via the RF2 output. This feature is unique to sly branded boxes. With DMs or any other sat box you have to use a more expensive alternative. If you wan't HD upstairs things can get really expensive.

Cheers,i think i'll go down this route

video senders?

like.... Nikkai HQ 5.8GHz Wireless AV Video Sender Receiver Kit on eBay (end time 28-Dec-09 21:43:45 GMT)

wont do hd i dont think (maybe will dunno) but standard i cant see an issue.
I have some AV wireless senders but they interfere with the wireless network!

Or Just use one of these if you already have cables in place

SLX Omnilink Remote Control Extender, 27872HS/04
This is another option,cheers

I know the magic eye just controls the box,i was hoping i could do the same with the DM but its not to be.I'm more than likely to go with the quad LNB option etc
Thanks for all the replies
