Hi all,

Having a few issues setting this up.

I have edited the target field of the VLC shortcut to - Target Field: "C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" --intf wxwin --extraintf=http

Although it will allow me to save this, it wont actually start VLC ? It starts fine if I remove the "--intf wxwin --extraintf=http"

Anyway, if I then download the VLC plugin via the DM800, add a server with the details:

Server Name:server or whatever
Enter VLC-Server as FQDN or IP-Address: IP-ADDRESS
Server Address: put in ur address 192.168.0.23 of pc server
HTTP Port: 08080 (Default)
Movie Directory: C:/xxxx
DVD Device: didn't worry about
Transcode MPEG/DVD Video: YES
Video Codec: MPEG2
Video Bitrate: 2000 is default
Video Resolution: adjust untill you like the result
Everything else can stay default.

If i then save it, I can view the movies in the dir specified.

If I try & play one, I get a blue screen of death on my DM800 & it says Enigma 2 has crashed & must be restarted !!

I'm assuming it's because my VLC shortcut says "C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" instead of "C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" --intf wxwin --extraintf=http ?

Any ideas ?

The command line switch for VLC will start VLC as a server but you will not see it unless you look at the task manager. Effectively, you start a separate instance of VLC as a server, and this has nothing to do with the normal operation of the program.

Copy the VLC icon on the desktop, then add the --intf wxwin --extraintf=http to the copied icon's properties. What I do is put this link into my startup menu, so it will always start automatically with windoze.

Without this running on your PC, you will get BSOD on the DM. Your settings should work fine.
