Hi,

After receiving today a DM800HD brought from b.c.t. I've come to the conclusion that its the cable version and not the satellite one :mad:

I've sent them an e-mail but if swapping parts around the planet is not the way to go then does anyone know where to get a DVB-S2 for the DM800HD?

Alternatively if anyone wants to swap a DVB-C for a DVB-S2 then I'm your man!

Hi mate,

Bad luck, I had a similar issue with another supplier a while back.

Does your tuner shows as ALPS or Philips?

ALPS = Sat
Philips = Cable

Hi,

It came up as a Philips DVB-C in one of the screens and the label on the tuner is "CU1216LS/AGIGH-3" which from a google is coming up as a DVB-C component.

I've e-mailed them pointing out that my first e-mail to them had a link to their site to the product I wanted that had on the page:

Tuner: DVB-S, optional: DVB-C, DVB-T

So that's what I need since I don't have cable.

I have just ordered one today from same supplier..although i did specify dm800s so lets hope they get it right.

cheers
pako

Hope it went OK for you. I got sent the DVB-S2 tuner from them which I had to pay for :Cry: Would've been cheaper to buy one from linuxsat!

I've now got the DVB-S2 tuner installed and flashed NabiloBlackHole_DM800_012_8a8f8.nfi.

Under Setup -> Service Searching -> Tuner Configuration -> Choose Tuner
it lists the device OK but underneath it has "nothing connected".

Device listed is "Alps BSBE2 (DVB-S2)".

Am I missing a device driver? Is this caused by the low level being configured originally for a DVB-C?

Any help or links appreciated!
