DM500V8 probs

As I'm totally new to this, I hope someone can help:

1. Managed to flash eagle 5.0 image, scanned and got the channels, but the I.P. address that the front image showed (which I thought was my dreambox's I.P.) didn't work, so Dream Control Centre didn't see my PC to upload the cam.

2. Tried the "Hold the power button in" thing to see if it would come up on the screen, but it seems the front power button doesn't work as well.

Any suggestions on how I get it's I.P.?

Am I using the wrong image for this model?

Go to the top of this page to the stickies and look at - Dreambox getting
started for new users - by Stillabrummie.

I used his guide when i first started with a dreambox and found it very
easy to follow and very useful. It gives you most of the info you need.

One question though, why have you installed a Eagle image on your
dreambox???

That's the one I've tried to follow, without the Gemini image (doh!)

The reason for eagle (which I don't really like, tbh), was because it was the 1st image I seen here for the DM500 before getting the box itself, thought I was doing the right thing, so downloaded it:

I thought, since it was my 1st go at this, I'll try the image. Then, once I know what I'm doing, replace it with a better one.

Of course, I'll be re-flashing the box and following it to the letter this time! :Laugh:
