I have an eagle box working with Pli Jade 2 and cardshare via port 12000 i have installed another eagle and would like to do the same in another room is there a tutorial on how to have two boxes running off one router ie do i need to open another port and create another dyndns account etc.

Thank you

Are you connecting to an exteranl server? if yes, is it paid or is it your mate? or is it just a local card that you want to share between the 2 boxes?

Just need a bit more info mate.

external servers ( several mates) ive got the two boxes sharing my local internally but i would like to connect to my mates externally

You have 2 options you could ask your mates to give you an extra reshare (if they dont all ready) on your 'F' line. You then add 'F' and 'C' lines to your recievers so basically your new box connects through your old box.

The other option is to ask your mates to give you a new line for your new box. You wouldn't have to setup dyndns becasue your new box doesnt have a card in to share as its only acting as a client.

If you wanted it to act as a server you would need to change the port in the CCcam.cfg to summit other than 12000 (so it doesnt clash with you old box) then port forward as you have done before.

Just a little bit of advice i would not use port 12000 because its well know whats on this port nowadays. So if someone does a scan for port 12000 they dont have to workout its a cardserver also the same for broadband providers.

the line your after is-

SERVER LISTEN PORT :XXXXX (could be anything give it high like 13000-15000 to avoid standard ports)

Its upto you though mate.

If you change the port you will need to give your new port to all the people that connect to your box and of course your router (port forwarding.) Its a bit off messing you will have to decide is it worthwhile to you.

The line 'SERVER LISTEN PORT :' goes into your CCam.cfg if it is not there CCcam defaults to its standard port which is 12000 so adding it to the config over rides the default to the value you set.

hi m8 i have installed the new number in the recommended range and portforwarded to my new eagle i would like to use my eagle as another server i have received a c line from a friend created an f line and sent a cline derived from existing dyndns account new port and user and password from f line i can see him as a server but not as a client do i need a new dyndns for this if so how is it configured please

sorry mate its hard to follow what you have written.

Can you connect to his box?
Can he connect to your new box?

If he is having trouble connecting to your new box, is the router forwarding the port correctly (maybe needs a reboot?)

Are you one a static ip address from your broadband provider if not has you ip changed and not synced with you dyndns account.

You should be ok using the same dyndns accout for the 2 boxes because you have set them up with different ports. So the router will forward the requests to the right box depending on the port.
