Hi,

I've just purchased a DM500-S and it appears to have a digitalworldz.co.uk logo on boot up so I guess I've come to the right place. I'm not sure on the initial setup on what to do. I have had recently installed a quad LNB dish which 2 cables go into my TV room where we have it fixed up to a Humax Freesat HD unit which works fine and the other cable is doing nothing at the moment. In my bedroom I've got a third cable where I've got the Dreambox so I'm not sure what settings I should select when the dish configuration stuff comes up.

Can anyone give me a pointer?

Many thanks
Brendan

you want simple installation, one fixed dish, then the satellite youll need is astra2 @ 28.2E

Thanks for the reply. I've selected the simple option but nothing happens after that, it just sits at the dreamworldz logo. Any thoughts?

Has there ever been a satellite DM500 image from DW?

You sure its a dm500s and not a dm500c or maybe someone before you has flashed it with a cable image by mistake?

Whats the history behind the box? Have you flashed it? Is it new?

Si

i think you may have a cable box, not a satellite one m8

but DW image will work for sat, ive done it myself ;)

Hi guys,

It's definitely labelled as DM500-S on the front and on the serial label underneath. I purchased it on ebay as new but clearly the chap before has put the DW image on. Will I be able to flash it as I'm a newbie and was unable to download before?

Is there a way to flash it using a network connection as I can log onto the unit via a web browser? I don't have a serial cable to hand.

Thanks
Brendan

You need to get a null-modem serial cable. Then its best to start fresh and put a new image on, such as Pli. You can download from the Pli website PLi® Images website so you wont need to download from here (but downloads will be possible for you soon).

Flashed the image over IP and it worked a treat.

Many thanks for your help.

Thanks for that. I'm still unable to download from this site. I'm not sure when I'm able to but when I am I'll grab your list so thanks for that.

Best regards,
Brendan
