Dm800 Help

Just tried to flash v0.03 nabilo ,done it before by putting box ip in and putting image across from pc,power up hold buttton wait for stop and ip etc,,,,
Problem now it does not want to boot up all it says is Dream Multimedia????
Tried powering up several times but still same,
Cannot even access from dcc, Any answers plz

hold the power lead on the back of the box, and unplug it

now very quickly, plug it in, unplug it and plug it back in again, like a quick in out in (fook off dutcho lol)

when mine hangs on bootup this normally solvs it

otherwise theres a new version of dreamup with 800 support and its a long wait for it to flash m8

Just tried that but still the same,has it lost the flash? what happend was i put image on but instead of removing power lead i pressed on off button,
so do i need latest dream up and serial it,,not blown i hope?

Well Digi you are right it takes quite a while, thought it was ok, but after completion and removing power lead, says same again in large letters Dream Multimedia and nothing else,

is the pure flash also not just for putting barry allen on to your box well your hard drive if you have one in just install the pure image then go through the set up then all you have to do when you reboot is ftp the other images over and install from the barry allen menu

Tried again but no sucess , i am now connected to dream up and sees dm 800 then flash which i have now selected gemini 4,
previously nabilo v3,,nabilo v06, in same way, then said error1,go to www 700.com?
Had previos problems with usb serial lead, so did it ,on other pc from comport, but same,

is it a clone by any chance?

I've read that for clones, you can flash any image on. If it has bootloader 70, some won't reboot and report CA error. However you can then flash just bootloader 69 onto the box and the image should then work.

and i found this elsewhere, copy and pasted.

this is what i did to restore my clone box after flashing it with Blackhole v0.6 :

used a serial cable (with usb to serial convertor dongle) and Universal DreamUP to connect to DM800, also had network cable plugged in (DM800 to router).
when DreamUP found the DM800 it sent it some file.
then if you look at the DM800 display, it will show you an IP address.
type that IP address in a web browser and you will be able to flash the box using the Web IF (i sent the #69 bootloader, was done in a few seconds).

basically i used DreamUP to prepare the box for flashing via it's WebIF.

Update and thanks to previous postings,severe problems could not use web browser, also looks like i had a problem with serial cable , used someone elses and there pc , and presto its working, bootloader 69 and blackhole v6,
Was sweating a bit with it ,but after the snippets of advice and hours of work , its back on so now i can watch my Bbc.
Expensive bit of kit i think ill leave it alone for a bit.
