I have a 90cm Dish on my chimney stack and although I get 13E fine I struggle at times with 1W where I dont get no signal at all.

I want to install a 1.2m dish and I doubt the chimney stack will be able to handle it.
Where could I find a dish installer who will fix it somewhere discreet?
I am willing to pay more so it is as discreet as possible but in the past people have suggested to put it on the wall which aint a discreet location.

Pls could some 1 advise me another alternative or maybe some 1 who can come have a look at my current setup and maybe find a solution.
I am in the walthamforest region.

Cheers!

I've just had a quote -
I would only install up to 1.1m dish.1.1m dish is enough for Thor .
Why do u have ur current dish on the Roof? Do u have trees or buildings blocking ur view? If not than I
would suggest a installation at lower level to ensure minimum
visiblity. Dish installation on its own at
1.1m dish is £120 including dish and new lnb and installation.

£120 worth it?

you should easily be able to get thor on a 90cm, i do perfectly.

you dish must be slightly out, what other satellites can you get.

£120 seems ok since it's with supply the dish, but again you shouldnt need it as yours is big enough

welll im north east of London and at times it comes and at times it goes. I mean I would like to pick up more satellites regardless. I used to be able to get 30w, once upon a time. So with a 1.1 would other satellites would I be able to get?

oh and just to mention I only got my dish re-aligned 2 months back.

who ever realligned it musn't have nipped it up properly, digidude made a excellent tip of 'egg shaping' the post once it's setup right then it wouldn't move at all.

i get all satellites from about 45w to 36e bar the obvious few like 7w, but my roofline restrics me from getting past 36e:(

Ok brill jiust a qucik final question - Should I got for a new motor with Usals H-H, so I can auto find the satellites once secured on 1W?

Right im thinking of paying that guy to come and install a new dish and motor for me.
Should I buy the dish, lnb and motor seperate to save?
Hes charging £120 inc LNB and Dish.

Im assuming he will charge £50-£60 just for the installation if I provide him the Dish etc would this be better then?

it's entirely up to you m8,ring him up and see how much he'd charge just for installation it might be cheaper for him to supply the dish and lnb and you just buy the motor, maybes digidude or pinky will have a rough idea on his pricing is worked out as they're satellite installers for a living m8

for the satellites youre looking to pick up, an 80cm dish would be enough m8, and i personally wouldnt install a dish on a chimney, even a hefty 8 pot chimney

if hes going to supply the dish, new LNB and fit it all for £120 id say to go for it m8, maybe even get a new USALS motor before he arrives ;) (about £50, try http://signaltech.eurosky.co.uk)

but it does sound like your existing setup is out of alaignment
