image servers

Is there a way to access another images server when not using their image?

Im using nabilosat but the dont have the new MGcamd (working TPS) so was wondering if i could edit some file in DCC so i could access the Gemini server who do have it.

I hate this manual install nonsense!


OK seems Nabilosat dont have a myserver like Gemini, WTF!

The filesystem structure is most likely different.

There is always a running and uninstall script which accompanies an emu or plugin. This tells the emu manager and addons manager what to do. Depending on the way the image is created, these will be different.

What to do is, install any version of mgcamd, download the latest version some anywhere and overwrite the file in /var/bin with the new file. Remember to choose another emu before overwriting the file because you can't alter a running emu.

Thanx for reply m8, i actually had just done that (stab in the dark) before reading this but its either not worked or the fix isnt working.

Sorry its working just not on TPS, so i know the emu is ok, just wondering about the fix.

I dont think the t*s fixes work m8. Ive tried them all the cccam and i've just tried mgcam 1.28 on a pb image. Ive tried all the k*ys and nothing works runs for about a min then freezes.

Yeah i know m8 i tried them too. CCcam only worked for about a day so wouldnt surprise me if MGcamd worked for a day then went down too.

Well probably see a 1.28b revision out soon.

I really wish they would put a note though in there download sections that the new fix is fooked, this would stop me trying tons of k*y files , loads of cams and about five different images i was bloody ages earlier trying to get it to work.lol

with most images theres some kind of file (normaly .xml or .txt or .url) with the server address stored u can edit this to point to any server u wish only thing to make sure off is the addon is in the same format as your image likes (ie .tar.gz or tar.bz2)
