Hi at the rear of my Dreambox hdse 800 the service port( small usb) has detached its self from the motherboard. Can this be resolded back on? or is a new mobo needed.

Need a close up mate are the pins into the mobo broke in the mobo itself is so youll need another port.
 
Can not make out the condition of the solder points 100% but anything is possible. I guess your asking as you do feel you could do it. If thats the case TV repair shop mate Or phone shop their use to dealing with component a lot smaller than that.
 
if you look at the 5 pads in the middle do they look ok.
the pads on the corners are easy enough but the middle ones your need a decent microscope.

chap in my local shop said he could not re fox it :( ny 1 wanna make an offer for spare/repair complete with power supply.

Surely wasn't a tv repair shop? This is a run of the mill repair. It would take me longer to clean that small area than it would take to replace the actual port.
 
Looks like some sort of contamination where the socket was. Probably flux remnants. Maybe they contributed some corrosion.

The pain in the arse here is probably taking the board out of the chassis to get to it.
