ftp to box

can anybody shine a bit of light my way,i have been trying all day to ftp to dreambox 800se,i have done it in past with no problem from same pc,today i cannot connect at all no matter what i try,i have been reading different ways,turn off firewall,try another client,try other pc,change the image etc,just wont seem to connect,any help greatfull.

try downloading filezilla ftp client, check the ip of the box in menu,information,network,

then open up filezilla using the ip adress of the box and root and dreambox respectively as the user and pass.

lol, no chance of that, its an internal ip.

but at least its getting an ip ;-)

have you tried dreambox control centre?

yep,lol,tried just about everything,i can connect through web browser,every way but ftp

giving up for another few weeks,to busy ,only a hobbie thing

Tried that. Am baffled. Gona try original firmware in it. But ive aready done it using that thor firmware, so dont know if it will make a difference.i think its something to do with the ip of pc or such.

I had a similar problem after updating my antivirus, I uninstalled the anti virus temporarily and tried the FTP with success. Once re-installed I haven't had the problem since. Maybe this will work for you also.

Try winscp and use ftp mode I use this when using windows

Ill try both. I even tried putting original firmware back on but no joy. Thanks for replys ill try that when get chance. Let yous know how it goes. The only anti virus i use is microsoft essentials.

you can also try pinging the box from a command prompt to see what level its failing. ping ip_add port_number
