Trying to flash back to satellite

Hello all, changed my tuner and flashed Smirnoff's backup cable image to try my box on cable. now i want to go back to satellite, the problem being I can't flash it back. I've had to use flash up as it won't boot into the web flash mode, when I try to flash the image it tells me "flashing failed invalid or old image, box will be unusable". So I tried flashing ssl84d and reflashing Rats backup without rebooting, but I still get the error message. Any ideas please. The box is a clone.

Quick update, managed to get it up and running again, used ssl84b and my old backed up imaged of PLI2.1, should I just be able to flash rats backup of ssl84d and PLI4 straight over the top of it now?

yes flash bootloader 84d & any image with that bootloader

Thanks alimac, any idea why I can't get the Web flash interface to boot, when I press the button and switch on I get second stage error.

Is that a NO CA error ? If so you have either flashed a ssl or image not for your clone.

If you model has the miniflashup button on the rear use that to recover it.

Hi ferret, sorry I'm getting second stage failed error. Can't update to 84d image keep getting invalid image error. Only one that works is 84b, with my dw1.1 backup.

Are you keeping the flashup button pressed till the front display changes ? Also you need the Ethernet cable plugged in to a router.

Yes, hold the button in switch on with little switch, hold button until stop is displayed,but I don't get stop I get second stage failed. This only happened after I flashed smirnoff's cable backup image. Is there a way to completely wipe and reflash?

A reflash is all you can do. But it sounds like the second stage is corrupt so maybe try the usually NO CA error recovery methods to try reflash the second stage loader.

Tried that method I can get on the browser flash screen, but when I press flash nothing happens. At least it's working just can't update it. Thanks all.

OMG fixed! all I had to do was hold in the power button when powering up instead of the miniflashup button to access the web interface. Hope this helps anyone else who's been tearing their hair out for a month or more, I was getting ready to bin it! Thanks for the advice all.

Please for you mate obviously you had cleared the NO CA Error by some other method or the above would not have worked.

No fella I never had no ca error, just couldn't upgrade image kept getting error 010 incorrect image, and miniflashup button gave me second stage failed.

Something strange has happened, as the mini flash button still doesn't work, but I can boot into Web flash mode by holding the power button and switching on. Almost like it's running on the wrong firmware.
