backup question

Hello Guys,

Iḿ new to all this so please bare with me.

My Box: dm800HDse | e-Star SIM | ssl#84 Boot Loader

I currently have OpenPLi 3.0 and i´d like to flash 4.0, I´ve seen on this forum how to do it.

My Question:
How can i take a backup image of my box before i start playing with it, in case things went back that i can simply restore it and get it to work as before?

You need to use Dflash to backup your image to a mounted usb stick or HDD.

To do this download dflash and install via the plugin menu

Menu-plugin-green button

Disconnect all cables from the rear of your box and start the dflash plugin from the plugin menu.

Select where to store the backup and then run it.

I can´t find it in the plugin menu!! Is there a way to install it via telnet, if yes how?

Yeah ftp to the tmp folder and run this command in telnet

opkg update && opkg install -force-overwrite /tmp/*.ipk

OpenPLI feeds no longer active so this could be tricky

Try this in telnet

opkg install -force-overwrite /tmp/*.ipk

That is the reason I want to upgrade to 4.0

Id just forget about the backup. And just ftp the cfg's etc that you need.

just save what you need & flash openpli 4 as feeds are fine on that

Thank you all for you support.

I re-falshed but selected the wrong image and now i got R01 CA NOT FOUND error. Should I open a new thread on how to fix that?

has your box got the mini flash button on rear

No. but I was able to fix the issue and flashed OpenPLI 4.0 by Ferret.

Thank you all for you support I really appreciate it. The satellite guy wanted 100 Euros to fix this :S
