Sim2.2 Clone V2 backup image

Hi all

My Dreambox (Sim 2.1) died so I purchsed ta new DM800SE Sim2.2 V2.

The only thing I have ever done is installed the rats image, with all plugins added. So a complete noob!!!!

I understand that I have to download from the V2 images but tried numerous images no plugins

Anyone point me in the right direction on a decent plugin or how do I add plugins for teh following

Rat’s Bouquet Updater
Rat’s Picon updater
Cool TV Guide 6.4.0 (coloured buttons mapped, Red takes you into guide)
CrossEPG Downloader (fixes included)

etc.....

Those plugins come in IPK format so ftp them to the tmp folder and use your images software manger to install them.

If you have any issues youll need to learn to install via the telnet method but let us know how you get on first.

'Telenet' best free software for this?

IPK format - where do I download these
Also what directory would these go to
looking at other posts all be it a Sim 2.1 it says

1. Flash the bootloader to version ssl 84b followed by a reboot of the box.
2. Flash an image that is pre-patched with bootloader ssl 84b followed by a reboot of the box.

Do I need to flash the bootloader as I have never done this on my old box.

Youll find all those plugins in the download section, use the search option.
DCC & puttytel are both free and again available in the downloads section.
If your current image is not on a 84 bootloader then yes youll need to flash the bootloader before the image.
You can flash the bootloader exactly the same way as you do a image via browser.

@bobby123 is right you need a 88a image for all v2 models and it will have that already so just flash a v2 88 image.
